How to setup email on your iPhone

I pulled this information from the best hosting company in the world

These setting will only work if you have hosting with me (through Rackspace)!

You can either choose IMAP or POP. I recommend trying IMAP first. IMAP leaves a copy of the email on the server (this will eliminate you having to setup extra option in your Outlook).

Setting up IMAP on your iPhone

To set up iPhone for IMAP, do the following:

  1. Tap Settings. mc_re_iphoneimap_001.GIF
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Other.
  5. Tap Add Mail Account.

Enter the following information in the spaces provided:

  1. Name—Enter your first and last name. This is the name that will appear in the Fromfield of messages you send.
  2. Address—Enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com).
  3. Password—Enter the password for your email account.
  4. Description—Enter a descriptive name for the account (e.g., Work Account). This description will be visible only to you.

Tap the Save button.
If IMAP is not already selected, tap the IMAP button.

Under both the Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server sections, enter the following information:

 

  1. Host Name—Enter the secure server name:
    secure.emailsrvr.com  (try this first, then try email.emailsrvr.com)
  2. User Name—Enter your entire email address (e.g., myname@mydomain.com).
  3. Password—Enter the password for your email account.

Tap the Save button.
The iPhone will verify settings and return to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars screen.

Setting up POP Email access on your iPhone

To set up iPhone for POP, do the following:

  1. Tap Settings. mc_re_iphonepop_001.gif
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account.
  4. Tap Other.
  5. Tap Add Mail Account.

Enter the following information in the spaces provided:

  1. Name—Enter your first and last name. This is the name that will appear in the Fromfield of messages you send.

  3. Password—Enter the password for your email account.
